The Feux de Forêt Association (‘we’, ‘our’ or ‘the Association’) attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data.

- the mobile app Forest Fires, available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android)
It explains what data we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it and what your rights are.

3. Data collected
We adhere to the principle of minimisation : only data that is strictly necessary is collected.
3.1 Identification and usage data
- Email address and username (if you create an account)
- Data relating to navigation and interaction with the website or app
- Technical logs (errors, device or browser type, OS or application version)
3.2 Location data
- Website: IP address (approximate geolocation at city level)
- Mobile app: IP address + precise GPS location, only if you explicitly authorise it
- On iOS: Settings > Wildfires > Location
- On Android: Settings > Apps > Forest Fires > Permissions
Your location is never used for advertising purposes without your consent.
3.3 Data relating to alerts
When you report a fire, confirm an alert, report a false alarm or send a message or media file in response to a report, we collect:
- Your IP address
- Your location
- A technical identifier for your device (Device ID or equivalent)
This data is used exclusively to ensure the reliability of reports, prevent abuse and keep the platform secure. They are never used for commercial purposes.
3.4 Cookies and advertising identifiers
- Technical cookies (necessary for the website to function)
- Audience cookies (statistical measurement, subject to consent)
- Website: advertising identifiers will only be used with your consent via the cookie banner
- iOS: IDFA is collected only after the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt has been accepted; this has been mandatory since iOS 14.5
- Android: GAID collected only with your consent

- Providing and improving the service
- Managing fire alerts
- Ensuring safety and preventing abuse
- Producing anonymised statistics
- Display adverts (only with your consent)

- Service delivery : processing necessary for the provision of the service
- Legitimate interest : platform security, anti-abuse measures
- Consent : audience tracking cookies, advertising cookies, GPS location cookies

Data relating to reports (IP address and device ID) is never shared with third parties, unless required by law.
8. Notifications
We may send you notifications based on your preferences and, where applicable, your location (active alert zones).
- Website: Browser notifications, which can be disabled in your browser settings
- iOS: A permission request is displayed the first time the app is launched
- Android: can be managed under Settings > Apps > CarteFeu > Notifications
You can turn off notifications at any time in the app settings or your system settings.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Restricted access to personal data
- Continuous monitoring of security incidents

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

- Right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’)

11. Data relating to minors
Our services are not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data relating to minors.

Some of our service providers may be based outside the EU (e.g. Google services). These transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards in accordance with the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).
13. No automated decision-making
No decision that has legal effects or significantly affects you is made in a fully automated manner, without human intervention.
