A 39-year-old police officer who had fatally injured a resident of a shelter in the northern districts of Marseille on 12 December 2010 was given a six-month suspended prison sentence by the criminal court.
However, the judges decided not to include this conviction in section 2 of the criminal record, as reported on Friday morning by our colleagues at Provence. The prosecutor had sought an 18-month suspended sentence for him. The defendant’s lawyer is taking a few days to decide whether or not to appeal against this sentence.
