A letter bomb has exploded, injuring one person at the International Monetary Fund (IMF); 66 Avenue d’Iéna, Paris 16th arrondissement
François Hollande responded to the attack, saying, “We are dealing with a terrorist attack when a parcel bomb is involved.”
Public security officers, forensic investigators, the Paris fire brigade and the anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office are at the scene.
The executive assistant, who was injured in the explosion, suffered burns to her hands and face. The letter was addressed to the chief of staff.
150 people have been evacuated from the building and access to Avenue d’Iéna has been cordoned off.
The DGSI and the judicial police are leading the investigation.
