Innovation: Firefighters test the ‘smoke stopper’

The Ille-et-Vilaine Fire and Rescue Service is currently trialling the ‘Smoke Stopper’; this device consists of a tarpaulin that can be adjusted to fit the size of the door and a bar used to secure the tarpaulin.

Its aim is to contain smoke within an enclosed space to prevent it from spreading throughout the building, thereby improving visibility and ensuring the safety of victims and emergency services.
