Who is Pompy?
Operation Pompy was launched on 10 March. It involves a teddy bear that accompanies the Var fire brigade to reassure young victims.
Pompy is the new passenger on the emergency and victim assistance vehicles (VSAV) of the SDIS 83 (Var). The aim of this teddy bear is to reassure young victims and help them communicate with the firefighters. It can be used to demonstrate the first-aid procedures that will be carried out, and to allow the victim to point out where they are in pain.
This teddy bear is the result of research carried out with psychologists and child development specialists.
It was launched in May 2016 and is sold for €19. Whenever a soft toy is purchased, another is placed in a VSAV.
