Joué-Lès-Tours (37): No emergency police officers

The Police Emergency Service has been facing a genuine crisis since last Saturday in the town of Joué-Lès-Tours in Indre-et-Loire (37); all 15 officers making up the service are on sick leave due to depression. This information was revealed by France Bleu Touraine, which reported on the situation, meaning that community police officers and those from Tours have been forced to cover the Police Secours service, resulting in longer response times. The cause is a reform of working hours due to come into effect next May, which imposes heavy and unsuitable working hours on police officers. A request for four additional officers has been rejected by management, which still intends to implement the reform from 2 May and has so far refused to enter into any negotiations.
