Corsica (2A): Five firefighters injured in a scrubland fire

During the night from Friday to Saturday, a violent scrubland fire broke out near Bastellica in Southern Corsica. Firefighters suffered burns to their hands and faces. According to AFP, at least two vehicles have also been completely destroyed. A large number of fire service resources from Southern Corsica have been mobilised, along with the Civil Protection service. The area affected is estimated at 40 hectares on Saturday morning, according to Ouest France; reinforcements are expected later this morning, including two water-bombing aircraft.
