Clashes broke out in Paris’s 19th arrondissement from 10.30 pm on Monday 27 March; the death of a man shot dead by the police on Sunday evening is believed to have sparked these tensions.   Around 150 people gathered outside the 19th arrondissement police station in Paris to pay tribute to Mr Liu Shaoyo, who died during an operation by the anti-crime squad. The tribute turned violent when individuals set fire to a police vehicle. Three police officers from the security and intervention unit sustained minor injuries from projectiles, and three protesters were arrested. The situation calmed down around midnight.   For details of how Sunday evening’s operation unfolded, see the article: A MAN IN HIS FIFTIES ATTACKS A POLICE OFFICER WITH A BLADE; HIS COLLEAGUE KILLS HIM   Video source: Twitter @RemyBuisine
