Lot (46): Firefighters equipped with a hovercraft

The hovercraft is the Lot Fire Service’s new operational watercraft. The water rescue teams were looking for a type of vessel capable of navigating all waterways, even those with shallow depths. The advantage of this type of boat is that it can travel through just a few centimetres of water without scraping the bottom. The hovercraft was purchased by the SDIS for €26,000 and is based at the Souillac fire and rescue centre.
