Vigipirate: Enhanced security on public transport in the Île-de-France region

The Ministry of the Interior issued a press release on Monday following the incidents in the St Petersburg metro. The press release states that Matthias Fekl, the Minister of the Interior, has redeployed security resources across the public transport network in the Île-de-France region. In the face of a very high terrorist threat, the government intends to take all necessary measures to protect the French people. Vigilance is at its highest and law enforcement agencies and the armed forces involved in Operation Sentinelle are fully mobilised.
