At around 7 pm on Tuesday 18 April, a motorcyclist from the Tours municipal police was killed when he crashed into the central reservation after losing control of his motorbike on the A10 motorway, travelling from Paris towards the provinces.
The two municipal police motorcyclists were on their way to an incident when they joined the motorway; the motorcyclist in the lead raised the alarm when he realised his colleague was no longer following him.
Born in 1988, he had been one of three motorcycle officers with the Tours municipal police for nearly four years.
The A10 was closed to traffic whilst the gendarmerie carried out the necessary investigations.
