Two days after the attack on the Champs-Élysées, a man was arrested at Gare du Nord (10th arrondissement of Paris) by law enforcement officers deployed as part of Operation “Sentinelle”, he approached a gendarmerie patrol with a knife in his hand.
This arrest caused a large crowd to gather; some passengers even abandoned their luggage.
Officers from the gendarmerie approached him, pointed their weapons at him, and then ordered him to drop his knife. The man immediately lay down on the ground and dropped the knife without offering any resistance.
He then said that he had been walking around armed “because he feared for his life”.
Bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene to check all the luggage left within the security perimeter.
