Avignon (84): Two firefighters assaulted whilst on duty

On Wednesday 7 June, at around 9 pm, two firefighters from Avignon were attacked whilst on duty; they were assaulted by a drunk man whom they were helping. The firefighters then called for police assistance, and the anti-crime unit attended the scene. The police took the intoxicated man to hospital, whilst the two firefighters, who had sustained minor injuries, were taken to hospital by their colleagues. A complaint is expected to be lodged.
