Seine-Maritime: Firefighter assaulted whilst on duty

On Thursday 22 June, at around 4 pm, the fire brigade was called out to a house fire in Sotteville-lès-Rouen. On arrival, the firefighters asked the owner of a parked vehicle to move it to allow the emergency services to carry out their work. He moved his car but then returned and assaulted a firefighter by delivering a violent punch to his face; the firefighter suffered two broken teeth. Witnesses tried to apprehend the attacker, but he managed to escape. An investigation has been launched by the police.
