Pas-de-Calais: Firefighter falls 10 metres
On Saturday afternoon, an open day was held at the Marck fire station.
To mark the occasion, the firefighters had organised a number of demonstrations.
During a drill, a firefighter from the Hazardous Environment Reconnaissance and Intervention Unit fell about ten metres whilst preparing to abseil down from the basket of the aerial ladder.
His colleagues and the SMUR (Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service) quickly came to his aid. He was then taken to Calais Hospital.
