Hérault: the impact of the forest fires
SUMMARY. Ten hectares of stubble, scrubland and woodland – mainly pine forest – were burnt on Sunday in the Hérault, where firefighters from SDIS 34 were called out during the afternoon.
Nissan-lez-Ensérune: 8 hectares of pine forest. A Canadair and two Air Tractors provided backup for the ground-based GIFF teams.
Lignan-sur-Orb : 1.5 hectares of pine trees and scrubland, on the road to Maraussan. The fire broke out 1 km from yesterday’s blaze, which devastated 4 hectares of pine trees.
Nébian: 3,000 m² of stubble. The fire was extinguished by a Canadair aircraft that had just refuelled at the nearby Lake Salagou.
Saint-Geniès-de-Fontedit: 2,000 m² of woodland. The fire was extinguished thanks to two water drops from two Canadair aircraft.
