It was during his speech at the National Gendarmerie Officers’ Academy in Melun that the minister raised the issue of modernising the premises, vehicles and equipment made available to military personnel.
In Gérard Colomb’s view, the dilapidated state of some fire brigades and the age of some vehicles are unacceptable.
He believes that the gendarmerie’s equipment also needs to be upgraded.
