On Thursday 20 July, at around 6 pm, police officers attempted to stop a car that was being driven without number plates, but the driver drove straight at them in the Mirail district of Toulouse. The fleeing vehicle was blocked by the flow of traffic, which enabled the police to catch up with it. However, once the officers were alongside her, she managed to escape. A few kilometres further on, the fleeing car was once again blocked by the police in a cul-de-sac. The driver was arrested and taken into police custody.

The Unité-SGP Police trade union has condemned the trivialisation of violence against the police.

On Tuesday evening, a man drove into police officers in an attempt to evade a checkpoint in the La Faourette neighbourhood of Toulouse; two officers were injured.
