A fire has been reported near the town of La Croix-Valmer in the Var department (83). Numerous aerial and ground resources are currently deployed in the area of this highly intense pine forest fire to combat the rapid spread of the flames, which is being exacerbated in particular by strong winds at the scene. Update at 9.00 pm: Homes are now reportedly under threat and the fire remains extremely intense, spreading unchecked through the pine forest. For your safety, please avoid the area.
