Bormes-les-Mimosas (83)

A fire has been reported near the town of Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Var department (83). The D98 and D42A departmental roads have just been closed to traffic. According to an initial official assessment carried out at midnight by the COS, 100 hectares of vegetation are reported to have already been burnt. The fierce fire now appears to be heading towards a pine forest after crossing a main road. A campsite is also reported to have been evacuated. Numerous ground resources (6 GIFF units) are currently deployed in the area of the fire to combat the rapid spread of the flames. For your safety, please avoid the area.
