A major flare-up of the Artigues pine forest fire has been underway since mid-afternoon, spreading towards the town of Seillons-Source-d’Argens in the Var department (83). Update 9.00 pm: The fire has spread across nearly 1,000 hectares (having started yesterday in Artigues), and 500 homes are reported to have been evacuated. For your safety, please avoid the area.
