Aubagne/Carnoux-en-Provence (13)

A fire has been reported near the town of Aubagne (13) in the Bouches-du-Rhône department; for your safety, please avoid the area. Several ground resources (6 GIFFs) have been deployed, as well as aerial resources (2 Trackers, 3 Canadairs, 1 HBE and a Dash) 6.00 pm: approximately 6 hectares have been burnt; the fire is currently still spreading unchecked and is heading towards Carnoux. 6.45 pm: The fire is still out of control and is heading towards the first residential areas. 7.15 pm: The fire is still raging fiercely and is now threatening a holiday village. 90 hectares have already been burnt. 7.30 pm: The fire is out of control; evacuations are underway north of Carnoux. 8.00 pm: The hall in Mont-Fleury, in the municipality of Carnoux, is open to evacuees. 8.30 pm: The fire is reported to have already spread across 150 hectares. 20 August: This morning at 9.00 am, the fire remains slightly active but is under control. 620 firefighters are still on site, and water drops from Canadair and Tracker aircraft are taking place to completely douse the burnt area, which now covers 240 hectares. The Marseille–Toulon railway line, which was closed yesterday evening, remains closed this morning. The latest report indicates that five firefighters have been treated by medical support teams, three of whom were evacuated for minor medical conditions. One elderly person, suffering from mild smoke inhalation, was also treated and taken to Aubagne University Hospital. The fire is no longer spreading, but the left flank remains active. At 6.20 am, a resurgence of the fire was observed during the night.
