Maine-et-Loire: a police officer on a motorbike dies in an accident

NATIONAL POLICE. The accident occurred shortly before 7.30 pm on Saturday evening in Angers, in the Maine-et-Loire department. A member of the national police force died in the line of duty following a road accident. The 43-year-old police officer was riding his motorbike alone when he was struck by a vehicle. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he could not be saved.

According to preliminary findings from the investigation, the motorcyclist was attempting to overtake a car when it changed direction, according to our colleagues at Ouest-France. His team-mate was standing a few metres away, pumping up the tyres on his bike.
