The Gendarmerie’s new national digital unit will be launched in Rennes in 2018 to respond to members of the public’s enquiries online via social media and a website.
This brigade will consist of around twenty military personnel. According to General Richard Lizurey, Director-General of the National Gendarmerie, the aim will be “to have genuine gendarmes – professionals who can address the public’s concerns”.
