A major fire is currently burning near the town of La Palme (11) in the Aude department.
For your safety, please avoid the area.
18:36: The fire is reaching the outskirts of La Palme and Port-la-Nouvelle. It is also burning the pine forest on the hill near the wind turbines. The fire front is advancing at 2,000 metres per hour.
7.30 pm: The fire is still out of control and has not yet been brought under control.
Two Tracker aircraft, three Canadair aircraft and one Dash aircraft are in the area.
12.45 am: 500 hectares burnt.
