Lézignan-Corbières (11)

A major fire is currently burning near the town of Lézignan-Corbières (11) in the Aude department. Several ground resources have been deployed to the site of this pine forest fire to combat the rapid spread of the flames, which is being fuelled by strong winds. For your safety, please avoid the area.   Aerial resources are also taking off, with 2 Trackers and 4 Canadairs currently in the air. EDIT 3.45 pm : As things stand, 20 hectares have already been burnt. The fire is continuing to spread and is still uncontained. EDIT 4.30 pm : 4 GIFFs on site. EDIT 6.00 pm : 1 Dash sent as reinforcements, with the rest of the air assets deployed to the fire at Lunel. UPDATE 8.00 pm: The fire is now under control and has been brought under control; numerous firefighters remain at the scene to monitor any risk of the fire reigniting, as there are still many hotspots.     Photo: Sharon.
