At around 2 pm, a man of North African origin was shot dead by soldiers taking part in Operation Sentinelle at St Charles station after attacking several passers-by with a knife.
According to a police source, this incident has been classified as a “terrorist attack”.
According to a preliminary report from the prefecture, this attack left at least three people dead, including the attacker. One woman had her throat slit and another was stabbed by the attacker.
The case has been referred to the anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office.
