According to our colleagues at franceinfo, during the night between Friday and Saturday, a crew of three firefighters was attacked by around twenty people in Nîmes, in a ZUP.
According to a report on Sunday, they were pelted with paving stones and Molotov cocktails whilst in the van France Bleu Gard Lozère. “We had concrete blocks and stones thrown at our vehicle,” said Loïc Géraud, a professional firefighter who was part of the crew that was targeted.
The three firefighters, who had just attended a call regarding a person feeling unwell in the ZUP Sud neighbourhood of Nîmes, were called to a fire involving a motorbike as they were leaving. It was there that they were attacked by a group of youths.
