The conference is both a trade fair, a place where progress is being made in the Reflections on the French model of civil protection and a an opportunity for conversation and socialising for the voluntary fire service network.
Highlights
Three events bringing together all sections of the fire service community: professional firefighters, volunteers, PATS, junior firefighters and former firefighters.
- Commitment, community engagement, resource management : a meeting to discuss ways of strengthening the fire service, consolidating the fire service’s commitment and maintaining the local presence of emergency services. Extensive discussions with the audience will help to link local issues with national challenges. See you on Thursday 12th at 9am
- Organisation of SISs: an overview of constraints, limitations and prospects : a meeting to take stock of the transition to departmental administration and to examine the prospects for inter-departmental cooperation and governance between central government oversight and the local involvement of local authorities. This meeting will take the form of a dialogue between the fire service and public policy stakeholders. See you on Friday the 13th at 9 am
- Involving the fire service in risk prevention and raising public awareness : Following on from the 2016 National Cause, a meeting to highlight the role played by the fire service, the SIS and the voluntary sector in raising public awareness and supporting the population in building resilience.
