Haute-Savoie: a professional firefighter dies during an operation

According to our information, confirmed by the Haute-Savoie SDIS fire service, a 45-year-old professional firefighter lost his life during a training exercise on Monday shortly after 4 pm. This is indeed sad news that has cast a shadow over the wider fire service family. Whilst carrying out a drill at the SDIS 74 departmental fire service training centre in Epagny, he was found unresponsive at the foot of a ladder truck. Despite the first aid and resuscitation efforts carried out by his colleagues and a medical team, the firefighter died. At 11.00 pm, the reasons behind the tragedy remained unclear. Did he fall from the top of the ladder? Was he the victim of a heart attack? As yet, no official statement has been issued.
