United States: terrorist attack in Manhattan

A shootout broke out between a man and the New York police on Tuesday at 3.15 pm local time (8.15 pm French time). A man driving a hire pick-up truck crashed into a bus and then into cyclists on the island of Manhattan. According to the authorities, there are at least eight dead and 12 injured.  The driver was arrested by the police after pulling out an imitation weapon and shouting “Allah Akbar”. Bill de Biasio, the Mayor of New York City, and the Governor of New York State visited the scene. At 10.25 pm, during the press conference, Bill de Biasio described the act as “terrorist” and “cowardly”. Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, reacted on Twitter by describing the attacker as “sick and deranged”. More information to follow!!
