Guadeloupe: Fire at a hospital

At around 3 pm on Tuesday, a violent fire broke out in a plant room at the Pointe-à-Pitre Hospital in Guadeloupe. The emergency plan was activated to evacuate some of the hospital’s patients to other hospitals on the island. By 7.30 pm, 72 firefighters had been mobilised; they had brought the fire under control, but it had not yet been fully extinguished.
