A major rescue operation was under way on Sunday shortly after 3 pm to evacuate around a hundred skiers stranded in broken cable cars at the Chamrousse ski resort (Isère). The broken-down cable car is located in the Recoin area. Two Civil Protection helicopters – ‘Dragon’ – as well as rescue workers were mobilised, according to our colleagues at the daily newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré. By 5.30 pm, the operation had been completed.
