A rescue operation is under way on the River Seine following the disappearance of a police officer in the river on Friday. The incident has mobilised significant resources, necessitating the cordoning off of the area near Notre-Dame.

The accident occurred during a joint exercise between the fire service and officers from the Paris Police Prefecture’s river police unit.
Since Monday, the level of the Seine has risen, reaching 3.06 metres on Friday following heavy rain and the passage of Storm Eleanor.
