Val d'Oise: four police officers attacked during a stop and search

On Friday evening, four police officers stopped a parked vehicle in the Val Notre Dame neighbourhood of Argenteuil. Whilst carrying out a search of the vehicle’s three occupants, the police found equipment used by drug traffickers. A crowd of around forty people quickly gathered around the police officers, who were then attacked. One police officer had a finger broken and has been signed off work for 30 days. Another suffered a head injury and has been signed off work for 10 days. The police arrested four of the attackers. Police unions are planning a rally on Tuesday 9 January outside police stations to condemn the violence against the police.
