Val-de-Marne: three firefighters injured in a fire

At around 4.00 am on Wednesday morning, the Paris Fire Brigade was called out to a fire in an underground car park in Choisy-le-Roi. 120 firefighters were deployed for eight hours to search the 2,000 m² site spread over two levels. During the operation, a firefighter suffered a heart attack and was quickly treated by the crew of a Paris Fire Brigade resuscitation ambulance. His condition is no longer life-threatening. Dr Patrick Hertgen, a medical colonel and vice-president of the French Fire Brigades Federation responsible for rescue operations and medical services, emphasised the importance of the operational support provided by the medical and rescue services. Two other firefighters sustained minor injuries.
