Paris: Police officers and firefighters attacked by dogs

At around 3 am on Wednesday morning, whilst assisting a man who had fallen from his scooter, police officers from the 10th arrondissement and firefighters from the Paris Fire Brigade stationed at the Château-Landon fire station were attacked by two drunk Polish men accompanied by their dogs (a Malinois and a young husky). The Malinois bit the victim and the emergency services on the orders of its owner. The police officers therefore quickly called for reinforcements, including the canine unit. The police used a Taser to fend off an attack by the Malinois, which then fled the scene. The canine unit captured the husky. The two men were taken into custody at the 10th arrondissement police station. One of the two attackers, the owner of the Malinois, will stand trial for aggravated assault (use of a weapon by intent and by a drunk person).
