On Wednesday evening, firefighters from the SDIS 06 were pelted with projectiles whilst responding to a medical emergency in their ambulance. On Thursday morning on Twitter, Éric Ciotti, MP and departmental councillor for the Alpes-Maritimes, reported an "Another incident of stones being thrown at firefighters in "Vence", considering that "The recurrence of these despicable acts calls for relentless punishment and a national wake-up call. Today, more than ever, the nation must stand firm", before ending his tweet with the hashtag #DontTouchMyFirefighter.

For his part, Charles Ange Ginesy, the president of the department, is calling for "the utmost firmness against the perpetrators of these unacceptable attacks. Now more than ever".
