The General Inspectorate of the National Police has been called in following the disappearance of firearms from the premises of the Paris Police Headquarters.
According to the weapons inventory carried out on Friday by officers from the Traffic and Public Order Division, four firearms (three Sig-Sauer SP2022s and a Beretta submachine gun) have gone missing from the police station in Paris’s 13th arrondissement.
An internal investigation has been launched to determine the causes of this disappearance.
The police internal affairs unit is not ruling out any lines of inquiry at this stage of the investigation.
