The worst was avoided on Sunday in the Drôme. According to a report from our colleagues at the Dauphiné, it was whilst trying to roast marshmallows over a fire they had lit using wooden pallets that a group of children aged around twelve inadvertently started a fire.
Thanks to the rapid response of the SDIS 26 fire brigade, the flames were brought under control, although they still destroyed more than 300 m² of scrub. Most importantly, they prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby Chastel-Arnaud forest.
