On Friday 29 June 2018, at the Château du Val-Saint-Germain, Colonel Jean-Marc Michelet, who has headed the group since 2015, officially announced his departure for the head office in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine). Colonel Karine Lejeune, who has 19 years’ service, will therefore take over from him in August. She began her career in Essonne as deputy to the commander of the Palaiseau company, where she was notably involved in setting up the first points of contact for domestic violence. This issue has been a recurring theme throughout her career, as she conducted a study on the subject from 2005 onwards, whilst working at the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie.
