Versailles: he fled the scene and was killed after being hit by a police van

According to our colleagues at the Parisian, a street vendor died on Sunday afternoon in Versailles. He was struck by a police van whilst trying to evade a police check. According to the website Actu17.fr, "The police van arrived at the same time and, despite emergency braking, the collision could not be avoided."

According to the website, News17, "The street vendor’s head struck the bonnet of the van with great force. One of the police officers who was following him closely had his foot run over. Emergency services arrived quickly, but the street vendor died on Tuesday evening in hospital.". An investigation has been launched by the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN).
