Another firefighter dies during a drill in Gironde
A professional firefighter from the Coutras fire station died on Monday at the Pellegrin University Hospital in Bordeaux following an accident during a drill, according to our colleagues at France Bleu.
A 49-year-old chief warrant officer from the Coutras fire station died on Monday morning following an accident during a drill. The man, who was married and the father of a 15-year-old daughter, fell four metres from the bridge from which he was directing the drill. A section of the bridge collapsed, causing the accident. He was airlifted by helicopter to the A&E department at Pellegrin University Hospital in Bordeaux, where he died.
