An FFSS 66 volunteer awarded a medal by the Minister for the Interior

The president of the FFSS 66 – the Pyrénées-Orientales Rescue and Relief Association – Nicolas Montserrat, was presented with a medal by Gérard Collomb, Minister of State and Minister for the Interior, on Thursday afternoon in Paris. He was awarded "in recognition of his personal achievements for all the work he has carried out in the field of rescue services on a voluntary basis for almost 12 years now" the organisation states on its Facebook page. In the Pyrénées-Orientales department, in Catalan country, FFSS 66 is the accredited civil protection organisation, which has significant human and material resources at its disposal. For many years, it has proven its worth, particularly through the work of volunteers whose skills stem from their training and professions, as many of them are doctors, nurses or firefighters.
