Two further suicides have been reported within the Gendarmerie, according to our colleagues at the website theThe rise of the National Gendarmerie.
Firstly, last Wednesday, 16 May, police officer Karim H. of the PMO in Cerans-Foulletourte, in the Sarthe department, took his own life at his home under circumstances that remain unknown. He was the father of one child.
Then, on Sunday 20 May, Gendarme Lionel G. of the Specialised Protection Platoon (PSPG) in Valduc (Côte d’Or) took his own life at his home using his service weapon. He was aged 32, in a relationship and the father of two children.
In both cases, an investigation has been launched, the Gendarmerie command told our colleagues at *L’Essor*. It should be noted that a gendarme took his own life last week in Alsace
