According to the website Emergency Information, on 9 and 10 June, Civil Protection Training and Response Unit No. 1 (UIISC1) will open its doors to the public during "Two exceptional days filled with festivities!"
These events provide an opportunity to meet the fire and rescue service personnel and to discover the many different aspects of their work. On the programme: dynamic demonstrations (rescue and clearance operations, forest fires, dog handlers, and many more), as well as various stands and activities (the young firefighter stand, helicopter trial flights, collections and scale models, etc.). A big raffle is also being held, with a car as the top prize and other prizes (including a holiday, a scooter and a flat-screen TV, amongst others).
