The United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union (Brexit), scheduled for 29 March 2019, will see the reintroduction of formalities and checks on goods and passengers. To carry out its duties effectively, French Customs will need to recruit and train a large number of additional officers this year and next. The deadline for submitting complete applications for the 2018 recruitment competition for ‘customs inspectors’ (Category C) is 4 June 2018 on the DGFiP website.   When registering, candidates choose between two sectors:
  • Administrative: inspectors responsible for monitoring commercial operations and general administration.
  • Enforcement: enforcement officers responsible for monitoring.
