Shortly after 11 pm on Saturday evening, a bus accident occurred on the A7 motorway in the north-south direction near Chantemerle-les-Blés, in the Drôme department. According to our information, at least two people have died and around twenty have been injured, several of them seriously. The NOVI plan – for incidents involving multiple casualties – has been activated, and the Drôme Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) is asking its staff to enter their availability on the SIO system, in order to provide any necessary reinforcements and maintain operational cover.

According to the Drôme prefecture, which was contacted by our editorial team, 120 firefighters from SDIS 26 are working alongside the SAMU and officers from the National Gendarmerie. The crisis unit has been activated. The motorway has been closed to traffic.
