Firefighters who were responding to a bin fire on a street in Etampes on Monday were targeted by a mortar shell, according to our colleagues at the Parisian. The police officers who had arrived as reinforcements as well.
An ambush. On Monday, on Rue Etienne-Guettard in Etampes, firefighters were targeted by a mortar shell and a projectile. They had been called out to a case of arson involving a rubbish bin left in a location that required them to venture into this sensitive area.
Faced with this attack, the firefighters, who had quickly brought the fire under control, called in the police for backup. They, too, were pelted with stones and came under mortar fire. No injuries were reported amongst the officers.
