Ille-et-Vilaine: 18 months’ imprisonment for assaulting firefighters during an emergency call-out

On Monday, firefighters from SDIS 35 were called out to a fire in Plélan-le-Grand. However, upon arriving at the scene, they were insulted and threatened by the owner, who brandished a knife at them.

Faced with this danger, the firefighters withdrew, as they felt the situation was becoming dangerous. The man was arrested, taken into police custody and then tried in summary proceedings. The court sentenced him to eighteen months’ imprisonment, half of which was suspended.
